The Great British Bake Off is back this month!
GBBO is back and there’s a new face in the tent for 2026.
Nigella Lawson joins Paul Hollywood as a judge, with Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding returning as hosts. With a new group of bakers ready to take on this year’s challenges, it’s also a good excuse to get children involved in the kitchen at home. Baking together doesn’t need to mean attempting an elaborate showstopper. It can be as simple as weighing ingredients, stirring a mixture or decorating a finished bake gives children a chance to get hands on with food and learn a few new skills along the way.
Have your own Bake Off at home
Why not set the family a weekend baking challenge? Pick something everyone can help with, give children their own jobs and see how the finished creation turns out. You could even let them score the results for taste and presentation – or award your own Star Baker. And if it doesn’t quite look like the picture in the recipe? That’s all part of the fun.
We’re always looking for ways to make mealtimes enjoyable for pupils while offering plenty of choice and variety. So, with Bake Off returning to our screens, why not get the aprons out and see what your family can create?
Ready, steady… bake!
